About
Hi, I’m Yu Ming and I’m into the raw food lifestyle and I live in Tokyo where the concept of raw is still pretty underground but I think it’s gaining some traction.
I named this site “Raw Bento” because I didn’t have a cooler and a car to keep an abundant supply of raw food when I was out and about, so I packed my lunches and snacks in bento boxes, a Japanesey way of keeping healthy and saving some money.
My lifestyle evolved along the way and I don’t really make bentos much as I work from home more now and don’t find myself often having to eat on the go like before when I used to teach English to Japanese adults in cafes most of the time. But now I’ve scaled that down heaps and am focusing on my own business. So apologies if you are waiting for more bento ideas but I do have an archive of past bentos which you can access on the “Bento” category on the right sidebar.
I also blog at Lioness in Japan, my personal space to talk about being a Tokyo expat and a trailing partner, and I run an online beauty business at Beauty Box.
