Chocolate cherry bomb shake

This is not my own recipe — though I wish it was. I nicked this from Kirsten’s Raw blog and I loved it.

I’ve always been a fan of cherries and chocolate but never thought it would be possible in a smoothie.

I didn’t freeze my fruit like what Kirsten did but I chucked some ice cubes in my blender and it still tasted delicious.

Recipe (in a blender)
Handful of pitted cherries
1 heaping tbs of cocoa powder
1 tbs hemp seeds
1 heaping tbs hemp powder
2 small bananas
1 small vanilla bean (scraped the black powder from the bean)
1 cup water

I drank this after a huge watercress and strawberry salad and felt great. I ran 15km the day before so I was ravenous. Hemp is definitely on the top of my list of daily raw food intake these days…

Kirstens cherry chocolate bomb is the BOMB – I love it I love it I love it so much! it’s right up there with No 7 shake from Sarmas “Living Raw Food”. Those are my two fave shakes!

I wasn’t sure which shake you were talking about so I pulled out my copy of Sarma’s uncookbook and now I know — Nick’s No. 7 Shake looks amazing but I don’t think I could find coconut meat here though. Maybe it’s time to buy some cacao nibs too….:p

Maybe frosen? I’ve also used coconut powder – soaked and then blended.

Dessicated coconut seems to be the correct term
