@Ally: thank you so much for your tips. I am feeling better now about green smoothies — I am using different fruit and greens now. I stopped spinach and berries in smoothies for a while too... I also don't believe in forcing myself to eat something my body doesn't want.

The same thing happened to me totally out of the blue last year after being high raw for about a year. I had a bad flu and then the thought of any raw salad or sweet smoothie made me feel ill. All I wanted was savoury and especially cooked foods like oatmeal, brown rice, toast etc. And so I listened to my body and didn't try to force it to eat foods it clearly didn't want just because they were 'good for me'. This lasted for a good month or so and in the meantime I just tried to keep my greens up as much as I could and add salty and savoury dressings to raw veggies to make them more appealing. Try swapping salads based on greens to raw veggies julienned or spiraled like zucchini noodles with raw pesto, or raw tacos with a savoury nut pate and guacamole, miso with raw veggies chucked in, or stir fries?
I eventually started craving my smoothies again once the weather started to warm up and now I am still high raw most days.
I know how frustrating it can be though not to be able to feed your body what you want and are used to!!!
Hope you get inspiration!

@kristina: well done on your progress!! actually come to think of it, the couple of times I did have a green smoothie it was with celery and maybe I packed way too much into one drink and I also chugged it down because I was very hungry. Note to self not to chug smoothies down so quickly.

@Mariannes: I noticed that I feel better when I make my smoothies simpler...less ingredients and the flavour is kept simple too. I'm fine with mango, pineapple and romaine or raspberry banana chocoate dates....no added superfoods or hemp powder type thing for now...But am back to salads...Perhaps my body was just reacting to lots of rich food recently. Trying to keep things simple and fresh. Had a good high raw food plan yesterday and no nausea and back to having high energy levels too.

hi Yu,
For a year now I have tried to introduce more and more raw food in my diet and the last month I have had only one cooked meal a day. My goal is to go completely raw one day. I was vegetarian for approximately 5 years then I ate meat and fish for a year and last month I felt I had to go vegan on my raw journey. So it is still early days ...
I have experienced the same you describe on your blog! Btw I looooove your blog, what an inspiration!!! For weeks now I have been reading your 3 blogs and watching your videos. I enjoy them very very much and you inspired me to really give raw food a go :D
Anyway, I do not digest early morning green drinks very well, or late night smoothies... then I get the symptoms you describe.
So I have a carrot, apple or orange and lemon drink first thing in the morning, Green drinks and smoothies I save for day time and smoothies with avocado and/or banana too, also anything with celery or cucumber too. Too much cucumber or celery in the morning or at night doesn't agree with me.
But I guess I'm still going through detox as I still eat cooked food too. I do not have an answer for the why part.
Keep up the good work and looking forward to your next entry :D
Regards from Belgium, Kristina

Hm. I can't say I have been so good at staying in the high raw highway, so I can't really tell if my experiences is similar. But it is an interesting (though not very scientific) theory. You should post on how you feel later.
