Raweos rawk

The thing about raw food imitating SAD/”real” food is it’s never exactly the same. In some cases, it tastes better, like raw corn. Please give raw corn a go and you’ll wonder why the heck you ate it cooked in the first place.

But for this Raweo, or raw Oreo, I was disappointed at first bite. Then I laughed at myself — it won’t be the same because the original one has all that fake junk in it! Raweos are not crunchy and the filling is not some tasteless milky cream. There are surprising hints of mysterious spices in the mix and after nibbling on three, I was won over. This stuff grows on you. Now, I’m a Raweo fan. Can’t wait to stock up on them again.

I got a chance to try those once. I was disappointed as well but it wasn’t the texture for me. There was some weird spice that lingered for a while after eating them which was more bitter than sweet. Like you say it’s not supposed to be the same. I may try again for comparison but I plan on experimenting myself when I need in-house things to do this winter. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yeah I think part of the raw journey is to slowly let go of old “junky” flavours and let new ones in. I def take it with a pinch of salt if someone says a raw version of a cooked item tastes so close to the real thing.
