Red pepper hemp dressing
Hi everyone, I’ve got a dressing that is great for both salads and other raw thingies that need a sauce.
As usual, I got this recipe off Choosing Raw. I always refer to this or The Sunny Raw Kitchen for inspiration. These two are non-preachy blogs that have reliable, easy-to-make recipes that are delicious.
Recipe (in a high-speed blender):
1/2 cup hemp seeds
1/2 red bell pepper
1/4 cup nutritional yeast
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tbsp nama shoyu or tamari
1/2 tsp mild curry powder
1/4 cup water
I have to say this tasted pretty mild and would probably add garlic and/or green onion to it in future.
For a bit more bite, I put a drop of apple cider vinegar into the dressing and it tasted even better! The black olives and the zucchini noodles just tasted so savoury and I was sorry to gobble it all up. Sometimes I don’t pay attention to my raw meals and just scoff them down, but this one was so good that I just sat there and relished every bite.
It probably doesn’t look too appetizing from the pictures and in real life so imagine my surprise!
I haven’t had zucchini pasta for ages and I must make a mental note to have this more often…
By the way, the green smoothie on the side was taken from Kris Carr’s Crazy Sexy Life’s post on gratitude journalling. I thought it was a breath of fresh air and I discovered that cucumbers and bananas make great bedfellows…
Recipe (in a high-speed blender):
2 frozen bananas
1 cucumber
1 tsp raw cacao
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 cups hazelnut milk
1 tbs almond butter
2 cups spinach
I love it when I find new smoothie recipes because I tend to stick to my tried-and-tested ones which can get a bit boring after awhile on the palate.

So funny you posted about Gena’s red pepper dressing, I made it tonight : ) So good!
