Strawberry maca smoothie
When I first tried maca, I loved it. It reminded me of Horlicks, a malty milky hot drink, that my grandmother made for me before bed or as a breakfast drink. For several months, I put maca in any smoothie I made but I found that the strong flavour didn’t suit green smoothies (at least in my book) so I put maca in nut milk smoothies.
I’m not a fan of buying every superfood available on the market but maca is pretty special because it helps to balance your hormones and is very energy giving. I took maca once at night and couldn’t sleep!
Here is one that I’m lovin’ at the moment (in a blender):
11/2 cups hemp seed milk
2 bananas
1 tbs maca powder
Handful of strawberries
Dash of cinnamon and vanilla essence















I just tried maca for the first time ( i can’t find it anywhere in Oslo, I had to order it online) – and I am absolutely mad about the taste too. The first thing that struck me was that it would taste perfect with nut milks. I have to try this recipe!
